I'm having a hard time with something. Let me paint two pictures.

An adorable, incredibly funny, outrageously generous young girl, who speaks her mind, who gives you her utmost attention when you speak, who remembers your birthday and the present your sixth-grade best friend gave you for Christmas, who would take the clothes of her own back if she thought it would help you. Someone so wonderful that you enjoy your time with her so much, and you always feel like you can talk to her about anything. But for four years, she's wasted her time with a guy who won't even say that he's in a relationship on facebook, who will not call her for weeks on end, who will spend time with ex-girlfriends even when it hurts. A relationship where she never mentions when something hurts her, where she's too afraid to bring up their future, where she disregards their past; a relationship that may not even exist except when the two of them are in the same room. For him, out of sight, out of mind. For her, til death do us part.

The most beautiful girl you've ever seen. Spunky, crazy, mischievous; thoughtful, caring, and deeper than most people you know. A girl who, when you are with her, makes you feel like she would prefer you never left her side; she's someone whose laugh makes you want to say something to make her laugh again; someone who you want to be close enough to so that you can be there to make her feel happy again when she gets sad. But someone who continues to see a guy who has pushed her to the ground, who has sex with her when she has said she will never marry someone she has sex with, someone who has cheated on her, someone who says he will never apologize. A relationship where she wants to fix, wants to forgive, wants to forget the pain in the past in hopes that the future will be fine. Someone who knows better, and yet... there they are, together again. Someone who wants nothing more than the truth, but ignores it in order to force it to work this time.

I don't understand.
